Patrick W. Diemer, Managing Director & Chairman, AirPlus International, Frankfurt/Main (Germany)

Patrick W. Diemer was born in Mainz, Germany, in 1957. He studied in Kiel and Hamburg and holds a Master degree in Economics from Hamburg university.

He started his business career at PRODIGY in White Plains, USA. Following this he became head of marketing at Matuschka Privat Finanz in Munich, Germany. In 1991 this company was acquired by Commerzbank. He moved to Frankfurt to work for Commerzbank, his last position being Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing for private banking & retail banking customers.

From 1997 until 2003 Patrick W. Diemer was General Manager of Visa International in Germany.

He joined AirPlus International in April 2003 where he serves as Managing Director and Chairman of the Executive Board. His responsibilities include Marketing, Sales, HR, Legal and Strategy. This includes all activities concerning the international expansion of AirPlus.

At this time AirPlus has more than 33,000 corporate customers in approx. 60 countries.

Mr. Diemer is member of the Board of Directors of Universal Air Travel Plan (Washington), Diners Club Spain (Madrid) as well as of the Advisory Board of Marketing Club (Frankfurt) and Commerical Payments International (Boulder) and the Travel Industry Club (Frankfurt).
